Tally

Tally has no cloud connection, so there are two ways in: upload an export, or let a small helper on the Tally PC send the books every hour.

Upload the Day Book export

  1. Open the Day Book in TallyPrime

Choose the period: from the start of last financial year gives Cass the history it compares against.

  2. Export it as XML

Use Export (Alt+E) and pick XML as the format.

  3. Upload the file

In set-up or Settings, Books. A Tally export is read as one ledger, so there are no columns to check.

Or run the Tally helper

The helper is a small script for the Windows PC that runs Tally. Every hour, while the PC is on and Tally is open, it sends your list of accounts and the Day Book from the start of last financial year.

  1. Open Settings, Books, Connect an app

Choose Tally (on your PC). You get a key and one command.

  2. Run the command on the Tally PC

Paste it into PowerShell with the company open in Tally. It installs the helper as an hourly task.

  3. Check the first read

Settings, Books shows when Tally was last read.
